Take a step back into time with me....

Let me take you back a couple of weeks ago...close your eyes, relax and enjoy the writings. Well don't close your eyes because you won't be able to read this then...

Any who.. I'll start on Oct 27, Stacey and I headed out that evening to Las Vegas. We took a trip down there, just the two of us to see the sites and sounds of the very popular city of Las Vegas. We landed around 9:00 and pick-up our luggage. We needed to get to terminal one to pick up a Las Vegas Survival Kit. If you every get one from a travel agency, It's not worth your time. All it was, is a pen and a bunch of coupons you can pick up from any one of your friendly flyer guys located all over the strip. After we did this we were off the our hotel, The Sahara. Nice place, rooms were clean and the staff were very helpful to our numerous questions throughout the weekend. We got our room and hit the casino to see what all the fuss was about. The first two machines we tried we turned $2 into 47 and $5 into 56. Not too bad considering those were the first two. We tried a bunch of different games, watched people, played penny slots and that was about that, at that time it was about 1:00 am. I had an idea to go up the Stratosphere and take a look at Las Vegas from 85 stories above the ground. My other idea was to then propose to Stacey and ask her hand in marriage. Good thing I had a couple of beers to keep my composure. Upon arriving at the tower, which was right across the street from our hotel, I was faced with a security crossing that had a metal detector. My first thought was I was going to have to pop the question in front of a bunch of strangers. I had the ring in my pocket inside a sunglasses soft case. I left it in the pocket..... As I walk up to the detector, the heart was pounding.. I took my first step, nothing, second step, nothing, I was in the clear, up the elevator we went. We almost walked around the whole structure when I took Stacey by the hand and said, "I need to ask you something"I went down on one knee, gave a little speech, can't really remember it, but I know it was good, and asked her to marry me. It took a couple of Öh my Gods"from Stacey but she said yes. We celebrated for a while and then sat down and watched the lights of Las Vegas. We finally did make our way back to the room and rested up for the long day ahead of us.

Because this will get pretty long if I go into detail, here are some other key highlights of the trip,

1 - Walking the strip, very cool to see how big these hotels actually are. They are friggin huge and you need to see them for yourself.

2- Hover Dam, the coolest thing I have seen in a long time. Very large and powerful, everything weighs a 1000 tonnes it seems.

3- Outlet shopping, found some great deals on shoes this trip.

The last couple of weekends have been full of events. Last weekend we attended the seventh annual Coyote Classic VBall tourney in Med Hat. Our team was... the Gukerts, JR, Justin, Andrews, Regan, Stacey and myself. We were ousted in the semi finals, 15-13 in the third match. It was either our team or the team that beat us that was going to win the tourney and they did. The social that night was a lot fun, we hit up a local bar, had some drinks and acted like fools for most of the night...good times.

This last weekend my mmen'sMonday night curling team won once again. Our record now is 4-1. We played a bunch of willey vets on Monday. They we not too hhappywhen we beat them to say the least. We also had our best game of the year, lots of good shots were made throughout the night. The best quote of the night was when their skip shook my hand and said "You sure know how to make yourself look like you know what you are doing out there". Whata jerk! We sure don't show up to let some old guys kick us around the sheet. So for the rest of you Monday nighters, do your stretches and watch the highlights from the last Tournamentof the Hearts cause we will have alreadydone that! hahahahaha.

This brings us to a closing. Hope everyone out there is doing well and I may see you in the near future.

Closing thoughts

1- We are early in the winter season, just a reminder, don'twalk around like its summer out there, cause you will slip and land on your back. Take your time and walk with wide steps.

2- Try the new self checkouts at Wal-Mart, very easy and you don't have to talk to anyone that really doesn't want to talk to you.

3- Keep fit and have fun. (that's lame I know)

Till next time fellows,

JP
