Baseball is over, what am I going to write about???
Slowpitch is now over and done with. The team ended up with a half-ass showing in the final tourney. Our first game was at 10:00 in the morning, we had a lot of pop ups and hit into easy plays all game. The contest ending in a 18-17 final. We still had a chance to make the final that evening, so everyone was ready to kick some butt.
Second game was like the first, the Band-Aids had zero bats. The other team had a field day catching the liners right into their gloves, pop ups without having to move and grounders that ended up on top of the base when it was a force play. We just had no luck. On the other hand, out defense was spectacular. Tuff plays tracking down fly balls, lots of sharp grounders hit to our shortstop (me) and making textbook plays all game. Never forget the Ol' Knuckler thrown by Cred that was dancing around faster than Chris Farly in the Chip "n" Dales skit with that stud Patrick Swayze. By the end of the game there was nothing we could do to get a hit. The game ended 8-7.
The Band Aids had a slim to no chance in making the finals and slim just left town. So we got some beers and hit the shade to relax and kill time for our final game of the year.
In the last game the Band Aids were back to how they played the whole season. Great hits, great plays and smiles all around. We waxed the last team, that was on the way to the final, 21-14. Season was officially over.
I would like to personally thank Trav for putting the team together once again and make the year so much fun. Thanks Travy.
Tourney High Light Reel
1- Denton!! (player of the day, he got on base every time expect once)
2- Me, I did have two horrible throws over Stacey's head on first. I was just seeing what I was capable of doing, hehe)
3- Rob and his witty comments all day, you are one entertaining little fella
4- Cred "holding me back" from the Ump. He thought I was going to fight the guy, I was just pretending.
5- Mels almost double play, I thought we had the sucker but the ump thought differently
6- Cred numerous pop ups, sorry buddy, I figure you just didn't want to wreck your golf swing.
All in all the day was awesome, hangin' out with the team being boneheads and making ridiculous comments.
Saturday night brought Millars party.
I was pumped, my boyz, Morton, Lukas, Smitty, Dave to mention a few were all to be there. The party was great, a couple of pukers and a bunch of laughs. Millar has himself a nice house and looks good. Met some of Millars work mates and they speak very highly of him. Good to hear.
Anyway.....This concludes our broadcast show....click!

You can write about how bad the Oil's defence is all season and talk about them 7-6 games. Dave was at the party? Dave's a KILLER!!! How bout Clark Baby?? Love all the Lacombe boys.
